how is the bmw VIN checksum calculated ?

As in the "Tools" section I would like to know the details of the calculation made to obtain the final chksum of the VIN Please

Thank you I have already done the reverse for the VIN/HEX HEX/VIN conversion

I wanted to add the chksum without having to rack my brains like I already did for this converter...
